FILM MENTORSHIP

This is your chance to learn how to shoot film!

I am now offering in-person film mentorships. You will learn everything you want to know about shooting film. The differences in film cameras, types of film, how to meter, how to load the camera, how to shoot, and the entire process of working with a film lab.

You can bring your own camera or you can use one of mine. I will teach you all the basics of film as we load a roll and walk around shooting film together. I will then send off the rolls for you and get them developed and scanned by my favorite film lab, Goodman Film Lab. A few days later you will receive the scans (jpegs) and I will provide some additional notes on where to improve.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

  • 2 hours of education and in-person shooting.

  • Access to my collection of cameras to use during our session.

  • 2 rolls of film. We'll probably only get through one during our session, in which case you'll get to take home the other.

  • Custom designed mobile cheat sheet notes I created to help you during and after our session.

  • Developing and scanning costs with Goodman Film Lab for the roll(s) we shoot.

  • Sessions will take place in San Juan Capistrano unless previously discussed.

IN-PERSON COST: $400 PER SESSION
Normally $550, I will be offering these sessions at $400 for a 2-hour session. You can also get a discount by booking with a friend.

BONUS $100 OFF
If you want to do the session with a friend it will be discounted. Must book and pay at the same time – the cost will be $300 per person.

ONLINE VERSION: $200 FOR 2 HOURS
If you live somewhere far away or would rather learn online, we can do the education portion online. We’ll do a video chat where I walk you though all the steps, you’ll get the mobile cheat sheets, and learn the ins and outs of shooting film. I’ll also help give you feedback on your first roll of film you shoot after the session.
