Here’s a collection of some of my favorite gear I’ve been loving this past year. A lot of these are on sale for the holidays so jump on them. If you have any questions on any of the items, slide into my DMs.

PELICAN CASES

These have been my absolute favorite thing this year. Protecting all my gear as I travel and keeping me organized. I’m obsessed with both of these sizes and absolutely love the TrekPack system since my kit is always changing.

HOLDFAST STRAPS & QUIVER BAG

I would be naked without the Holdfast Moneymaker straps and Quiver Bag. These are essential for me to carry multiple cameras, extra film, batteries, and everything I need to nail the shoot. It was such a well-designed and high-quality product. I freaking love these. I’ve had my straps for 6+ years and they just keep getting better with age.

CUSTOM PEAK DESIGN ROPE STRAP

I found this amazing creator on Etsy who makes these beautiful rope straps with Peak Design quick release anchors. It’s an amazing system and I just love the short strap for my Q2 as I hike. This is a 27.5” strap but I ordered a second one that was 24”. I wouldn’t go any shorter, but I love how it sits high so my camera doesn’t bounce around as I hike.

Leica Q2

So you’ve been good this year huh? You’re gonna treat yourself? The Leica Q2 is hands down the most fun digital camera I’ve used. It is so nice in your hand and fun to use and the files are insane. I love the colors, micro-contrast and just look of the photos SOOC. Freaking expensive, but worth it if you can afford it.

FILM

You can never have too much.

A “new” film camera

Some personal faves:

Leica M6 - My forever camera. The best 35mm camera I own.

Canon 1V or Canon EOS 3 - Amazing if you have Canon EF mount lenses. Autofocus and a beast.

Canon AE-1 - Great beginner film camera to learn to shoot film.

Fuji GA645 - A medium format point and shoot with a flash. Too much fun and super sharp.

Contax 645 - The grail medium format portrait camera.

Olympus Mju-ii - A small compact and sharp point and shoot

Nikonos V - An underwater film camera

SUPER 8 FILM VIDEO

I’ve been shooting more Super 8 film this year and have been having a blast. The vintage feel is so refreshing and fun. It just has this nostalgic vibe that is missed these days with 4K cameras in your pocket. Pro8MM out of Burbank makes the buying film and processing part super easy too.

WANDRD PRVKE 31L with Camera Insert

This is my daily driver. It’s so good for bringing to the office everyday or for short hikes. I love the essential camera cube inside and how I can pull it out and use it for everything. It’s a beautifully designed system and great for short little trips.
